2022 UEFA U17 European Championships kicks off

This years U17 Euros kicked off on Monday in Israel which was full of action on the opening day. Keep reading to find out more!

The competition will run from 16th May to 1st June played across 5 venues featuring 16 teams.

Scotland are the only British representation in the tournament with Engalnd, Wales failing to qualify.

Fixtures/Results

France set off with a bang defeating Poland 6-1 on Monday. Portugal put on a show hammering Scotland 5-1 in their opener with five different players appearing on the scoresheet. Spain took their opportunity of being group leaders with their 2-0 victory over Turkey.

Jardell Kanga picked up a brace in Sweden’s 2-1 win over Denmark, following the 1-1 draw between Serbia and Belgium. Also on Monday’s opening action, Germany beat Italy 3-2 in what was a very exciting match up. Two time champions Netherlands came from 1-0 down to win 3-1 against Bulgaria.
