U18 Premier League South: Top Performers from Match Day 7

Week 7 of the U18 Premier League South took place over the weekend. Many young talented footballers stood out at the weekend, but five players were outstanding, and they were:

Favour Fawunmi – West Ham United U18

Favour Fawunmi got on the scoresheet twice as West Ham returned to winning ways with a 5 – 0 demolition away win at Brighton Hove Albion. He opened the scoring for his team in the 11th minute. He was able to overturn possession for his team before finishing smartly from close range. For his second and his team’s fourth goal, he pounced on a defensive error before placing his shot into the bottom corner. Despite usually being deployed on the wing, Fawunmi started in a front two at top alongside Ryan Battrum. This role change paid off as the 16-year-old capped off a very good performance with a brace to open his account for the season.

Samuel Amo-Ameyaw – Southampton U18

Amo-Amyeaw scored twice and got an assist as Southampton thumped Leicester City away from home 6 – 1. Amo-Ameyaw’s brace were his first goals of the league campaign and he will look to build on this performance. He has also made a couple of appearances for the U21’s this season.

Will Merry – Southampton U18

Southampton striker got on the scoresheet and assisted two goals for his side at the weekend against Leicester City. He has taken his tally to four league goals for the season. He was one of the reasons why Southampton were able to secure back-to-back wins in all competitions. Mikey Harris will be counting on him for Southampton to improve their league form long term.

Aaron Loupalo-Bi – Fulham U18

Fulham’s in form attacker scored a brace as Ali Melloul’s side salvaged a point against London rivals Crystal Palace with a 2 – 2 draw.

Loupalo Bi has now scored six goals in his last four league games. In addition, to this he has now converted eight league goals for the campaign. He is joint leading goal scorer for the U18 Premier League South league alongside Crystal Palace’s Junior Dixon. The 16-year-old physical striker was a constant handful for his opponents Saturday afternoon and he was awarded with a brace.

Finley Munroe – Aston Villa U18

Aston Villa’s left back, Finley Monroe had a top-class performance as the Young Lions recorded a 3 – 1 win against Jack Wilshere’s Young Gunners. His cross forced an own goal from Quesada-Thorn in the 32nd minute. In the 54th minute he got an assist from a set piece which was headed home by Jack McDowell. His performances ended Aston Villa’s seven match winless run.
