Top 5 players of the week EABL week 3

Nedas Cholevinskas – Barking Abbey

Barking Abbey kicked off their season in week 3 of the EABL season with a dominant 87-56 victory against Copleston high school. The star man for Barking was new recruit Nedas Cholevinskas who took control of both sides of the ball in an all-round dominant display. The versatile forward dropped 26 points which was twice as many as his closest teammate, he made his presence known in the paint with 13 rebounds and he also helped his teammates, dishing out 5 assists and 5 steals making him the clear winner of this week’s EABL player of the week.

Favour Uyiosa Ajayi – Newcastle Eagles

After a disappointing start to the season for the Newcastle Eagles program, the Eagles looked to have got their season properly underway in week 3 of the EABL season with a close-fought victory over recent strugglers Birmingham Met college. It was a solid shooting night for the Eagles with three players getting in double figures for points. However, the standout player in the game was Favour Uyiosa Ajayi who finished the day with a Stella 25 points, which was just enough to guide his team to the finishing line and get that lucrative first win.

Louie Tucker – SGS College

After being crowned our week 2 player of the week and the leagues week 2 player of the week with probably the most dominant display in the league this season in SGS’s win against Myerscough, Louie Tucker yet again finds himself in the top 3 this time around with another monster performance against the Manchester Magic. The teams opening win in week 2 saw the guard finish with 29 points, 22 rebounds, and 4 assists but this time around he broke the 30-point mark and finished with an outstanding 33 to help his team move to 2-0 for the year. Can Tucker make it three top fives in a row when they face Derby trailblazers on Wednesday?

Matthew Goodwin – Manchester Magic

The Manchester Magic were unable to follow on from their 30-point blowout of Sheffield college after losing to an inform SGS side. However, despite the loss, a pattern has started to form in the rise of 6ft2 guard Matthew Goodwin, who for the second week in a row has had a sensational scoring outbreak. The recruit who is in the class of 2024, scored 37 in week 2’s victory and in week 3 scoring 32 points earning himself a spot in the top 5 players of the week for the second week running.

Talles Zacharias – Oakland College

Oakland college lost their second of the season in a tight 77-85 affair against the John Madejski academy which saw them pick up their first win of the season. Despite Oakland losing the game, it was their star man Talles Zacharias who grabbed the final spot in this week’s round-up of top 5 players of the week. After winning the player of the week award in the opening round of fixtures with a huge 20 points and 19 rebounds, Zacharias has been consistent in his performances being the leading scorer for his team in all their games this season and finishing the last with 23 points which were more than double next top scorer who finished with 9.
