MTK Budapest are the first Hungarian side to reach the playoff round and Young Boys are also in the hat for the first time in their history. AZ Alkmaar and KRC Genk both reached the last 16 last season while HNK Hajduk Split and Inter Milan fell at this hurdle in 2021/22.
