Following some nice ball movement by SGS, Okoye found himself open and made a three-point shot to put the home side five points ahead at the end of the first quarter.

After a slow start to the quarter, Trailblazers managed to cut 16-point deficit down to six as the teams went into half time at 46 – 40 to the home side. This was thanks to impressive second quarter showings from Isaac Thorpe and Tobore Denedo.

Okoye showed his quality throughout the match dropping 18 points, showing his ability to create space for himself as well as displaying his passing ability and vision.

It was a great performance from Elliot Lawrence who led the scoring for Derby with 20 points. As well as grabbing 11 boards for his team.

Denedo’s quality was on show as he continually distributed the ball across the floor, finding teammates from all angles. He also showed his qualities from three-point range. Ending the game with 12 points and 5 assists.

SGS worked hard to stay ahead of the resolute Blazers in an exciting third quarter, where Tucker kept answering back with several made shots from beyond the arc.

Important free throws from Tucker at the end of the fourth quarter kept the home side ahead, allowing SGS to win the game 88 – 83.
