Crystal Palace Fought Back Twice To Earn 2 – 2 Draw Against Norwich

Despite Rio Cardines and Asher Agbinone getting on the scoresheet to earn Crystal Palace a hard-earned draw, their winless run extends to four matches in all competitions.

Kenneth Aboh gave Norwich City the lead and then Rio Cardines equalised shortly before the break. Aboh restored his side’s lead a minute before halftime. Crystal Palace were awarded their second penalty of the match, which Agbinone tucked away in the 86th minute to salvage a draw for Rob Quinn’s side.

Kenneth Aboh opened the scoring for Greg Crane’s side in the 11th minute. Harrison Thompson delivered a low cross after driving at the Palace defence which was tucked away from close range by Aboh.

Palace reacted quickly two minutes later, as Freddie Bell’s low effort outside the box was comfortably saved by Caleb Ansen.

Moments later Crystal Palace had another chance which Nascimento dragged wide after the impressive low cross from Zach Marsh.

In the 18th minute Ansen had to tip over a free kick from Nascimento to prevent an equaliser.

The Young Eagles got their deserved equaliser five minutes before halftime. Marsh drove at Ben McCabe and beat him for pace before he delivered an amazing cross for Cardines to tap in from close range.

Four minutes later Norwich, restored their lead. A deep cross from the right from Alfie Pinyoun was headed home by Aboh to grab a brace for his side.

30 seconds before the break Nascimento, fired an effort on goal, which Ansen had to parry away from goal.

After the interval, Rob Quinn’s side upped their tempo as they moved the ball quickly in search of an equaliser. Meanwhile, their opponents were struggling to regain the ball as they defended deep in their own half.

On the hour mark Crystal Palace was awarded a penalty. Waylon Renecke got on the wrong side of Zach Marsh and fouled him inside the box. This came after a teasing delivery from Cardines.

Junior Dixon stepped up to take the penalty, but his effort was saved by Caleb Ansen. The Norwich goalkeeper dived to his right to save Dixon’s effort.

Substitute Alex Roberts, spurned a massive chance to increase Norwich’s lead. He headed his effort over the bar after a good delivery inside the box by Michael Reindorf in the 76th minute.

This chance proved costly for the Young Canaries as Crystal Palace were awarded their second penalty of the afternoon. Agbinone took on Ben McCabe for trickery and pace. The Norwich City left-back fouled the Palace substitute inside the box.

Agbinone stepped up to take the penalty and his effort just about crept underneath Caleb Ansen to grab Crystal Palace’s second equaliser of the match in the 86th minute.

Rob Quinn’s side could have won it very late in the game. when Agbinone delivered a teasing cross from the right but Cardines failed to convert from close range.
