EABL: Tucker’s 20 carries SGS College over Sheffield College

SGS College put in a dominant display at home defeating Sheffield College 80-66.

Louie Tucker led them in scoring once again. He scored 20 points and Jezz Mugabo on Sheffield College matched his 20. However, the game was quickly out of reach for the visitors.

SGS College started the game on fire going on a 13-point unanswered run. The run was led by Jayden Edwards who had 11 of those points.

The Welsh international started a hot hand immediately draining a midrange jumper in the first possession then dribbling the ball up and draining a three without hesitation for the next points of the game.

Sheffield got their first points with just under five minutes to go, but it was quickly answered by a Louie Tucker three.

Tucker also had a strong first quarter with five points and two early blocks.

The first half ended 49-24 and they managed to keep a healthy lead for the entire game starting the fourth quarter 20 points ahead (66-44).

Sheffield College outscored SGS 20-14 in the fourth but it would have had to have been an incredible last quarter from them to go on a run to bring the game back.

Sheffield College’s tough season continues, their record now stands at 1-3. The team is joint last in the Northern Conference, joined by Newcastle Eagles Academy.

SGS College remains unbeaten winning four out of four games. Currently joined at first with Myerscough College, and they have played two games less.
