LONDON, England – — Matt Allocco shone as Princeton University beat Army West Point to reach the final of the London Basketball Classic where they will face Northeastern University.

Allocco produced a fantastic double double, scoring 15 points, and grabbing 12 boards for Princeton.

Tigers came into the game having won their previous two against Marist and UMBC and were looking to continue their streak. However, their opponents lost their previous two games and were eager to change their fortunes.

Chris Mann led in points for Army with 19, as well as showing his bounce with a showtime dunk in the second half.

Tosan Evbuomwan impressed in the first half as he made his return to his home country. The Newcastle born forward ended the game with 14 points and 8 rebounds

Princeton took the lead for the first time just under four minutes before half time, as Xaivian Lee three drilled a three pointer to make it 28-26.

The first half involved a battle of the two defences where the game went extended periods of time without anyone making a field goal.

Army found themselves trailing by only a point going into the break as Tigers led 33-32.

5ft 10 guard Jalen Rucker showed his toughness by not being afraid to drive to the basket and challenge the taller defenders of Army West Point, as well as providing 15 points.

Blake Peters was on fire from beyond the arc making 5 threes on 9 attempts and ending the game on 15 points.

The Tigers’ excellent ball movement in the second half was key to their shot creation, as they became very effective from range as the game went on.

Free throws from Ryan Langborg helped see Princeton over the line to win 74-66.

Princeton will face Northeastern in the final of the London Basketball Classic on the 26th of November at 5:00pm GMT at the Copper Box Arena.
