LONDON, England – — Joe Pridgen receives the lob for a monster dunk to close out the game scoring 20 points for Northeastern which survived a tense second half to beat Manhattan 67-69 in OT on Thursday night to advance to the championship game of the London Basketball Classic.

Ant Nelson drove to the basket on the right wing to score the turn around floater to tie the game with 17.9 seconds left on the clock. Northeastern then advance the ball to half court before calling a time out leading to the final play. Northeastern will play for the title on Saturday against Princeton.

Josh Roberts had a major block at 1:07 in OT to deny Northeastern extending their 3 point lead. Moments later he was back in on the action down the other end with a put-back dunk to fire up his team as they were only down 1 with just under a minute left. (66-65)

After Nelson drove down the right wing to make the turn around left hand floater he tied the game 67 a piece with 15 seconds remaining.

Northeastern came out the time out and executed on play drawn up with Pridgen coming off the back screen to get a thunderous dunk on a alley-top ass to secure the win.

“I just looked up and saw it was a one possession game. Coach called out the play, we had no timeouts, its a play we practice a lot, we didn’t run it all game, I just trusted my team mates, trust my teammates that the pass will come, trust my team mates that screen would come.”
