EABL players of the week: Week 9

This week’s week 9 EABL players of the week are the last of the calendar year from us. Due to the lack of games in week 9, we have selected our top 3 players who performed outstandingly for their teams this week.

Miles Moore – Birmingham Met
Birmingham college ended its calendar year with a tough loss to still-unbeaten Charnwood in the Northern Conference of the EABL. The side lost 77-92 to the reigning champions which leave them at the foot of the conference. However, a major positive for Birmingham going into next year is the performance of 6ft6 wing Miles Moore. The wing had a monster game on both sides of the basketball, scoring 33 points, snatching 13 boards, and, dishing out 4 assists. Despite the loss for his team, his excellent performance earns him the number one spot in week 9’s players of the week.

Clemson Edomwonyin – City of London
The next player on the list and the player who has achieved second place on this week’s players of the week is the City of London’s Clemson Edomwonyin. The 6ft8 centre was a driving force in their 58-32 victory over the Canterbury Academy as he registered a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. This victory at the end of the calendar year for COLA means they sit in third place on the same points as Barking who are top of the league.

Lukas Masaitis – Charnwood College
The Charnwood Riders will continue their quest to become back-to-back champions in the new year as they remained unbeaten by beating Birmingham Met 92-77. Although Miles Moore had an outstanding game for Birmingham, Lukas Masaitis also put up great numbers for the Riders by posting 17 points and 5 rebounds to help take his team to victory.
