EABL Players of the week (Week 10)

The EABL returned this week for the opening round of fixtures in 2023. This is EliteScholars’ top five players from week ten of the season.

Stephen Asante (Myerscough)

The first player in this week’s EABL players of the week is Myerscough’s Stephen Asante has registered 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 steals in a crucial win at the top of the Northern Conference. The 70-86 win saw Myerscough end SGS Colleges’ excellent unbeaten run and help them go level on points with SGS at the top of the conference on 18 points. The win saw Myerscough move to a record of 6-2 heading into week 11’s EABL fixtures.

Maximillian Coupe (CoLA)

The City of London Academy continued where they left off with another win to open the new year against Oakland Academy. The win leaves CoLA top of the Southern Conference on 15 points with a record of 5-2. The standout performer for the London side and the second man in week ten’s players of the week is Maximillian Coupe who finished on 27 points 4 rebounds and 3 steals for the game.

Isaac Thorpe (Derby College)

The Derby Trailblazers took home a convincing win against strugglers Birmingham Met College who sit at the foot of the EABL Northern Conference. The Trailblazers won 94-62 and dominated the game from start to finish. The standout for Derby and the man who is third in this week’s players of the week is Isaac Thorpe who finished on 24 points 4 rebounds and 6 assists. for the day.

Ben Brown (Manchester Magic)

It was a blockbuster game between Sheffield and Manchester in last week’s EABL encounter after Manchester edged out their rivals 70-68 in an edge-of-the-seat type of game. The standout for The Magic and the man who ended up being the key difference maker was Ben Brown. The guard scored 21 points to help see his side move to four wins and create a six-point gap between them and Sheffield in the mid-table.

Declan Kom (Sheffield)

Despite the loss for Sheffield against Manchester, a major positive for their side was the performance of Declan Kom. The Sheffield player finished on 21 points 7 rebounds and 5 assists. He continues his string of successful performances which keep putting him in the players of the week. Sheffield’s current record is 2-6, so they will be hoping Kom can continue performing and turn losses into wins.
