Connor Ferguson signs first professional contract with Leeds United

Connor Ferguson has signed his first professional contract with the Leeds United after two solid seasons of regular football for the U18s.

The 18-year-old has penned a two-and-a-half year deal at Elland Road, running until the summer of 2025. The full-back has been a regular for the Leeds U18s this season and has featured 12 times in all competitions.

Ferguson joined Leeds from Oxford United during the 2020/21 season and made a handful of appearances in the U18s that campaign. He first became a regular in the U18s last season making 19 appearances in the U18 Premier League, U18 Premier League Cup and FA Youth Cup.

This campaign, the defender has made a strong start featuring in all but two of Leeds’ U18 Premier League North games and has started all nine of his league appearances. The 18-year-old has also provided two assists this season.

Speaking after signing the deal, Ferguson said: “I’m over the moon, I’ve been a Leeds fan since I was little, so I’m chuffed.

“I’m really happy having been here from a young age and now I’ve got this deal, I want to push on.

“I’ve loved every step of the way so far, it’s been challenging in a good way and that has helped progress me as a player.

“I’ve been playing regularly for the Under-18s and now the next step is to try and push on and break into the Under-23s side.”
