U16 & U18 Mens Sure Shot National Cup Finals Round-Up

In the U16 Boy’s finals, Manchester Giants defeated London Lions 71-64 to win the Sure Shot National Cup.

Giants were ahead for most of the contest. Their lowest lead at the end of a quarter was eight at the end of the first quarter.

They ended the second quarter up by 12 and the third by 10.

The Lions made the game competitive, though, thanks to guard Micael Filho, who ended the game with a near triple-double. He put up 25 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.

His step-back three in the fourth made the game 60-52 with three and a half minutes left and the intensity from both teams picked up.

The Magic did well to answer every bucket and keep their lead with the game having been 66-62 with less than a minute and a half remaining.

Magic captain Jack Walton was awarded the finals MVP. He had a team-high 17 points to go with five assists, five steals, and three rebounds.
