Tyler Dibling has signed his first professional contract, keeping him at the Saints until 2025.

The 17-year-old from Exeter joined the club at the age of eight, earning himself a two-and-a-half-year deal after his impressive form for the U18s this campaign.

Tyler Dibling has progressed through the ranks in the academy. He caught the eye of many Southampton supporters as he scored a first-half hat-trick against Newcastle United in a Premier League 2 Division Two match last April. A month later, he was named on the bench for Southampton’s first-team squad for a Premier League match against Brentford, however, he didn’t make an appearance.

The talented midfielder has scored five times for Southampton U18s & U21 combined this season. However, his best performance of the season was against Aston Villa U18s, as he scored a brace in his side’s 4 – 1 victory in the FA Youth Cup fourth-round tie.

After signing his first professional contract, Tyler Dibling said:

“It feels good, I’ve been here since the age of eight, and it’s always good when a player comes through all the ranks and finally signs a pro deal that every kid wants when they’re younger.

“Every day you get closer (to the first team) by working hard and trying, and I’ve signed for two-and-a-bit years here, so hopefully, I can push to the first team and push to be a starter.”

Academy Director Matt Hale said:

“It’s great to get Tyler signed on a long-term professional contract – having been part of our academy since he was eight years old, he’s grown through our programme both as a character and as a skilful player.

“He has already achieved so much in his young career, having represented England at youth level, playing up regularly in our B team, and of course, being part of the first team squad last season.

“His performances of late have been particularly impressive. He joins an extremely talented crop of first contracts professionals who are enjoying a very successful season in the professional development phase age
