Another full weekend of fixtures took place in the U18 Premier League North this weekend as well as five fixtures in the U18 Premier League South. An exciting round of fixtures saw some outstanding individual and team displays as well as a whole host of goals. Here are the standout stars from another thrilling week of academy football.

North

Victor Musa, Manchester United

Victor Musa scored twice as Manchester United beat Derby County 5-2. The England U16 international netted a first-half brace to see United into a two-goal lead at the break. The forward’s haul moves him up to six goals in the U18 Premier League in just seven appearances this season, all of which have come in the last month.

James Nolan, Manchester United

James Nolan notched a goal and an assist in United’s convincing win against the Rams. The 17-year-old set up Musa for the forward’s first goal before adding an absolute thunderbolt of a strike in the second half to get himself on the scoresheet. Nolan has been moved from full-back to central midfield in recent weeks and is thriving in his new role.

Justin Oboavwoduo, Manchester City

Justin Oboavwoduo grabbed two goals in Manchester City’s 4-1 victory over Liverpool. The England U17 international scored in the 2nd minute and 93rd minute as City moved 10 points clear at the top of the table. The forward’s brace takes him up to 13 league goals for the season which keeps him level with Callum Marshall at the top of the U18 Premier League scoring charts.

South

Charlie Lutz, Aston Villa

Charlie Lutz was the star of the show in Aston Villa’s 3-1 win away at Leicester City. The 18-year-old assisted Benjamin Broggio’s opener before scoring a second-half brace to win the game for Villa. The forward now has nine goals in his ten appearances in all competitions this season.

Callum Marshall, West Ham United

Callum Marshall netted two goals as West Ham United won 3-1 away at rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The Northern Ireland U19 international opened the scoring in the seventh minute before wrapping up the points in the 88th minute. Marshall’s brace takes him up to 13 league goals for the season, keeping him level with Justin Oboavwoduo at the top of the U18 Premier League scoring charts.

Franco Umeh-Chibueze, Crystal Palace

Franco Umeh-Chibueze scored twice in Crystal Palace’s 3-1 win away at Arsenal in midweek. The Republic of Ireland U19 international only signed for Palace from Cork City in January and made his debut last weekend against rivals Brighton & Hove Albion. Umeh-Chibueze marked his first start for the club with a first-half brace to twice give the Eagles the lead against the Gunners.
