U18 Premier League: Top performers from 4th March 2023

Ten fixtures took place in the U18 Premier League this weekend, six in the north and four in the south. There was some key movement at the top of the table in the south and the same can be said down the bottom in the north. Here are the standout stars from another thrilling week of academy football.


Dajaune Brown, Derby County

Dajaune Brown scored a brace in Derby County’s 4-1 victory against Newcastle United. The forward opened the scoring for the Rams then added a second 10 minutes later as Derby took control of the game in the first half. Brown’s haul means he now has eight goals in eight games in the U18 Premier League this season.

Ben Andreucci, Leeds United

Ben Andreucci scored two late goals to earn bottom of the table Leeds United a crucial draw with Manchester United. The 18-year-old scored in the 87th minute to bring Leeds back into the game before grabbing a stoppage-time equaliser to bring the scoreline to 3-3. The forward now has seven goals and two assists this season.

Keyrol Figuora, Liverpool

Keyrol Figuora grabbed a goal and an assist in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest. The forward assisted James McConnell for the opener then netted the equaliser in the second half to earn Liverpool a point. The USA U17 international has scored seven goals in seven games in the CONCACAF U17 championships recently and marked his first start of the season for the Reds with two contributions.


Lemar Gordon, Fulham

Lemar Gordon notched two goals and two assists as Fulham thrashed Southampton 5-2. The 17-year-old equalised for the Cottagers in the first half. He then set up Aaron Loupalo-Bi and Delano McCoy-Splatt to put Fulham in front. Gordon then rounded off his performance with a second goal late on which moves him up to seven goals in the U18 Premier League this season.

Omari Benjamin, Arsenal

Omari Benjamin scored a hat-trick in Arsenal’s 4-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion. The Wales U17 international opened the scoring for the Gunners after just two minutes. He then netted his second goal early in the second half before completing his treble from the penalty spot. The hat-trick moves Benjamin up to 11 league goals this season which sees him joint-second in the U18 Premier League goalscoring charts.

Callum Olusesi, Tottenham Hotspur

Callum Olusesi bagged twice in Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-2 win against Crystal Palace. The midfielder netted the equaliser and the goal to put Spurs in front as they came back from 2-0 down to beat the Eagles. The 16-year-old is in his debut season at U18 level and this weekend marked his best performance to date.
