Tottenham Hotspur have clinched their first-ever U18s Premier League Cup with a resounding 3-1 win against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Rory Wilson opened the scoring for Aston Villa, but a brace from Rio Kyerematen and a Jamie Donley goal secured Spurs their first-ever title.

Before the final, Tottenham Hotspur defeated Sheffield United in the semi-final with a 1-0 win. Meanwhile, Aston Villa was involved in a five-goal thriller as they overcame Charlton Athletic.

Tottenham started the game on the front foot, and Aston Villa goalkeeper James Wright was forced into an early save to prevent Tottenham from opening the scoring.

The Young Villans took the lead in the 16th minute when Rory Wilson tapped in from close range after good work from Omari Kellyman, who delivered a cross from the left that was headed across the face of the goal to Wilson, who took his chance.

Aston Villa grew into the game and was denied a second couple of minutes later, as Luca Gunter tipped over a fierce effort from Kellyman to keep Spurs in the cup final.

Tottenham Hotspur equalized just before half-time as Rio Kyerematen scored from close range after a lovely passage of play from Stuart Lewis’s side. Kyerematen’s seventh goal in all competitions was a massive sigh of relief for Tottenham as they went into half-time 1-1 against an impressive Aston Villa side.

Spurs took the lead in the 60th minute from an excellent counter-attack, and Tottenham center-back Alfie Dorrington played a massive part in this. He intercepted a pass inside his half, drove with the ball, and then laid it off to Jamie Donley, who cut onto his left foot and placed a low effort into the bottom right corner past Wright.

Tottenham extended their lead shortly after Aston Villa lost possession cheaply. A cross was delivered from the left, and Donley did not quite get the shot away. However, the ball fell to Kyerematen, who finished expertly for his second goal of the match.

Aston Villa tried everything to get themselves into the match. However, Tottenham managed the game well to prevent their opponents from making the U18 Premier League Cup final interesting.

Rory Wilson missed a huge chance to halve the deficit for Villa in the 88th minute. Imani Edwards delivered a low cross into the path of Wilson, who scuffed his shot horribly wide.

Stuart Lewis’s U18s side secured their first-ever U18 Premier League Cup title. Tottenham Hotspur gained their second silverware at the youth level as the U17s side won the U17s Premier League Cup a couple of weeks ago.
