Matt Goodwin, Simas Kondzeliauskas, and David Akhidime named MVPs in NBL Junior Final Fours

The National Basketball Performance Centre hosted the NBL Junior Final Fours on Sunday, here is a roundup of the MVPs from each age group.

U18: Matt Goodwin – Manchester Magic

Goodwin was on fire from beyond the arc draining five threes against London Elite, ending with a game-high 34 points.

This is Goodwin’s second MVP award in this competition with his first coming last year at U16 level, as he continues to build on his game.

Despite London starting brightly, Goodwin and the Magic took control and completed an unbeaten campaign.

U16: Simas Kondzeliauskas – London Baltic Stars

Kondzeliauskas was in top form for Stars, dropping 25 points and grabbing 16 boards to help his team to victory against Sussex Storm.

The guard showcased his talent by not missing a single shot from the field, a perfect 11/11 to go with his double double. He also chipped in with three assists and three steals.

Stars were comfortable in their victory winning by 22 points in a dominant display.

U14: David Akhidime – Manchester Magic

Akhidime was dominant in another Manchester win on the day, his 20 points and 17 rebounds helped his side to overcome last year’s loss in the final.

The Magic captain also contributed three assists, two steals and made five blocks in his 37 minutes on the floor.

Magic managed to fend off a late Warriors rally to keep themselves ahead at the close of the fourth.
