Real Madrid’s Jan Vide wins the ANGT Finals MVP

Real Madrid point guard, Jan Vide, was awarded the Adidas Next Generation Tournament Most Valuable Player award after helping Madrid lift their fourth ANGT title.

The Slovenian averaged 21.2 points per game, 5.7 rebounds, four assists, and one steal over the four-game weekend.

Vida contributed with 19 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in the final game, which saw Real Madrid beat the Next Generation Select Team 71-60.

Jan Vide becomes the first Slovenian to win the ANGT Finals MVP award since NBA superstar Luka Doncic won the accolade in 2015, playing for Real Madrid.

Fellow Real Madrid star and previous ANGT Munich MVP, Hugo Gonzalez, was awarded the EuroLeague rising star award.

Real Madrid’s record-breaking fourth title was Vida’s second in his young career, winning the event in 2021 as well.

The Tournament

Real Madrid opened the tournament against Serbian outfit Crvena Zvezda Belgrade, emerging victorious in the contest, scraping an 85-81 win.

Jan Vide opened the ANGT Finals as he meant to go on, scoring 19 points, grabbing three rebounds, and dishing out three assists.

Madrid made much easier work of their second game against Panathinaikos Athens, demonstrating their superior ability, winning 47-71.

The young Slovenian superstar led Madrid in scoring, posting 20 points in the contest to go along with seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 30 minutes.

Real Madrid met Spanish rivals FC Barcelona in game three, with a place in the final at stake for two European giants.

Vide and Madrid came out winners in convincing fashion, defeating Barca 72-54, with Vide recording his highest points tally of the tournament, with 27.

To go along with is 27 points, the Slovenian hauled down six rebounds and four assists, setting up a final with the Next Generation Select Team.

Vide led his Madrid in points (19) and assists (6) as the European giants secured a 71-60 victory, subsequently winning their fourth ANGT trophy.

As well as the MVP award, Jan Vide was named in the All-Tournament team with previous qualifier MVPs Nikola Topic and Kasparas Jakucionis. The team was complete with Bogoljub Markovic of Mega Belgrade and Mouhamed Faye from NGS Team.
