Josh Robinson has signed his first professional contract with Arsenal.

The England youth international has been with the Gunners for seven years since joining the club in 2016.

Robinson featured 19 times across all competitions last season. He was part of the Arsenal U18s team that reached last season’s FA Youth Cup final, playing every minute from the quarter-finals onwards.

The 18-year-old is known for his ball-playing skills and athleticism and can play both right-back and centre-back. However, Robinson predominantly played as a centre-back last season, as Michal Rosiak was Jack Wilshere’s first-choice right-back for the U18s.

Josh Robinson has already made an unofficial first-team appearance for Arsenal’s senior team during pre-season in 2022. However, he is expected to permanently step up to the U21s side ahead of the new 2023-24 season.

After signing his contract, Josh said: “I’m very happy to reach this milestone. I feel like I’ve worked hard and deserved it, and I’m hungry for more.

“I have a lot of trust in the coach and staff. I feel like they’re fully committed to making me a better player, which is why I decided to commit long-term.”
