The Moroccan youth international has signed his first professional contract after joining Arsenal from Dutch side Feyenoord in January 2021.

The young midfielder made 20 appearances for the Arsenal U18s last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in the U18s Premier League South.

His impressive performances last season earned him a call-up to the Moroccan U20s team, and he made his debut against Burkina Faso U20s.

“I’m extremely happy and excited, and I feel proud to sign my first professional contract,” Ismail said in an interview with Arsenal Media.

“I really like our playing style as it suits me well. Hopefully, I can showcase more of my abilities.”

“I consider myself a box-to-box midfielder. I contribute both defensively and offensively. I also have a good shot!”

“Last season was the first time I managed to find my rhythm as the previous years were plagued by injuries. But last year was really satisfying for me.”

Ismail has set his sights on making the step up to the Arsenal U21s in the upcoming season and hopes to feature in the 2023-24 UEFA Youth League campaign.
