British Basketball Prospect Chris Yapo Joins Bridgton Academy

British basketball prospect Chris Yapo has joined the Bridgton Academy basketball program in North Maine, USA.

Bridgton Academy is a prep school for high-class athletes and is known for creating college-ready student-athletes for NCAA Division One programs.

The academy boasts a rich tradition of winning, having secured four NEPSAC AAA Championships and facilitated Division One scholarships to some of the best colleges in the USA.

Yapo, a small forward from the Midlands in England, will be completing a postgraduate year at the academy.

Yapo joins this highly regarded prep school after a successful year playing in the EABL for the Derby Trail Blazers and with the Leicester Warriors in NBL D2.

In 19 games with the Leicester Warriors in NBL D2, Yapo averaged 19.5 minutes per game, 9.3 points per game, and 8.5 rebounds.

With the Derby Trail Blazers in the EABL, the wing averaged 12 points and 8.3 rebounds in just over 24 minutes per game.

Speaking about his transition from English basketball to American hoops, Yapo said: “It’s an excellent opportunity to improve both on and off the court.”
