U18 Premier League: Top performers from 4th November 2023

Left to Right: Kieran Morrison, Zach Marsh, Marley Wilson, Rory Wilson

Only seven fixtures took place in the U18 Premier League this week as storm Ciaran battered the UK but there was certainly no lapse in quality on the pitch. A whopping 38 goals were scored in the matches that took place, 14 of which were scored by the players in this week’s list! Here are the standout stars from another thrilling week of academy football.

Zach Marsh, Crystal Palace

Zach Marsh features in the list for a second week running after scoring a hat-trick in Crystal Palace’s 5-2 win away at Tottenham Hotspur. The England U18 international opened the scoring in the sixth minute and doubled his tally just after the half-hour mark. He finished his hat-trick before half time to wrap the game up for Palace. The midfielder now has 11 goals in eight league matches this season.

Rory Wilson, Aston Villa

Rory Wilson also scored a hat-trick as Aston Villa thrashed bottom-side Norwich City 7-0. The forward opened the scoring in the seventh minute and netted his second 10 minutes later. Like Marsh, Wilson completed his hat-trick in the first half when he put Villa 4-0 up just before the break. Wilson has scored an insane 15 goals in nine league matches this season and his form saw him make his debut for Scotland U21s last month despite only being 17.

Kieran Morrison, Liverpool

Kieran Morrison netted all three goals as Liverpool beat Middlesbrough 3-1. Morrison, who turns 17 this week, put the Reds in front in the first half before restoring their lead early in the second half. The midfielder rounded off his hat-trick in stoppage time to make sure of the points. He has already beaten his goal tally from last season as his impact on the Liverpool U18s continues to grow.

Marley Wilson, Leeds United

The final player to net a hat-trick this weekend was Marley Wilson who earned Leeds United a 3-0 win away at Everton. The forward put Leeds in front just before half time before slotting away a penalty to double the advantage straight after the break. 20 minutes later he completed his treble to wrap up an early present to himself ahead of his 18th birthday this week.

Justin Oguntolu, Derby County

Justin Oguntolu was the star of the show as Derby County came from behind to beat Blackburn Rovers 5-2. The forward set up Niall McAndrew for the Rams’ early equaliser before putting them in front in the 35th minute with McAndrew returning the favour. He netted his second in first-half stoppage time to extend Derby’s advantage. Oguntolu has already matched his goal tally for last season and has cemented himself in the U18 setup this campaign.
