We’re down to the final four of this year’s FA Youth Cup following an exciting round of quarter final fixtures!

Millwall 1 – 1 Chelsea (Penalties: 4 – 2)

Millwall upset Chelsea via a penalty shootout at The Den to send the Lions to the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup.

It was the visitors who opened the scoring as Harrison Murray-Campbell bundled the ball over the line after 65 minutes.

Millwall responded five minutes later after a defensive mishap allowed Jack Howland in on goal, and the midfielder finished with ease.

The two sides couldn’t be separated after extra time and the result was to be decided in a penalty shootout with Millwall coming out on top.

Manchester City 2 – 1 Tottenham Hotspur

Three-time champions Manchester City knocked Tottenham Hotspur out of the competition following an incredible late fightback.

Tyrese Hall put Spurs ahead just after the hour mark, slotting home at the near post following some nice interplay between himself and Oyindamola Ajayi.

City hit back in the 83rd minute as Christian Dunbar-McDonald’s curled effort was parried into the path of Luca Fletcher who converted to level the scoring.

Jacob Wright completed the comeback with a free kick on the edge of the area in the final minute of regulation time to send his side into the semi-finals.

In another upset, Leeds United knocked out four-time champions Liverpool in a convincing performance at Elland Road.

After forcing the opposition defender into a mistake, Leeds capitalised as the oncoming Rhys Chadwick fired in from eight yards.

In the 53rd minute, Max McFadden claimed his second assist as he found Freddie Lane at the back post and the latter nodded past the goalkeeper for 2-0.

Chadwick found the net once again on 70 minutes, firing in a rebound to put Leeds in the clear and despite Trent Kone-Doherty’s last-minute consolation, the hosts progressed.

Bristol City 1 – 0 Swindon Town

Bristol City booked their spot in the semi-finals with a 1-0 win over Swindon Town, who’s fairy tale cup run has come to an end.

Billy Phillips’ excellent left footed strike gave the hosts the lead just two minutes before the break at Ashton Gate.

Swindon had a chance to level the scoring in the second half as the ball bounced around the six-yard box in a flurry of chances, but Bristol City remained ahead and booked their spot in the final four.
