After five years with Kent Crusaders, Canterbury Academy big man Timothy Oboh has committed to the University of Buffalo in the NCAA Division 1.

The 6’10 forward has been hugely impressive in the EABL this season and averaged just shy of 17 points per game along with 12 rebounds.

After being crowned MVP of the EABL’s Southern Conference, Oboh is widely regarded as one of the top prospects coming out of the UK and has earned an opportunity to take his talents to the States.

He was vital in Canterbury’s run to the EABL Elite Eight after finishing in the 3rd spot in the South.

The now 18-year-old has represented Great Britain at U16 and U18 level in European Championship competitions.

He will take the jump across the Atlantic to join up with the Buffalo Bulls, competing in the NCAA Division 1 Mid-American Conference.

Oboh announced his decision on Instagram and said:

“Praise be to God, I have made a commitment to play at the University of Buffalo next year!

“I want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to my family and friends, Adam and the coaches at Kent Crusaders who have helped with my development, and my teammates who constantly pushed me in practice and ensured there were never dull moments.

“I look forward to working with Coach Jake and Coach George in my next chapter.”
