EABL Final Preview: Charnwood College Riders vs City of London Academy – Southwark

On Wednesday the 27th of March, Charnwood College Riders and City of London Academy – Southwark will face off in the EABL final in Manchester.

The two number-one seeds will take to the court in the National Basketball Performance Centre with aims of getting their hands on the silverware.

Charnwood took down current holders Barking Abbey in their semi-final bout which ended 75-60 to the northern table toppers.

A strong first quarter allowed the three-time champions to build some distance and an impressive showing from Lewis Malcolm (18 points, nine rebounds, five steals) helped see them through to the final despite the best efforts of their opponents.

Edward Onyia has been a key figure in the young Riders’ journey to the final, averaging 20.4 points, 10.3 rebounds with an efficiency rating of 311, the second-highest in the league.

CoLA knocked out the northern MVP Tyrese Lacey’s Myerscough College with the score reading 74-64 on their way to big finale.

Khyle Capanzana led the charge, his 18-point performance was a huge factor in CoLA’s statement semi-final victory

They’ll be looking to their leading scorer and rebounder in Isaac Fiagbe who has averaged 12.9 points, 8.2 boards per game as they target their first ever EABL title.

The game tips off at 5:00pm GMT following the CBL and WEABL finals and award ceremonies.
