Noa Essengue crowned MVP at Euroleague Adidas Next Generation Dubai

Ratiopharm Ulm’s Noa Essengue was named Most Valuable Player at the penultimate ANGT qualifier tournament in Dubai.

Essengue’s performance in the final was one to remember, as the 18-year-old produced an unbelievable 33 points, 18 rebounds, two assists, three steals and four blocks.

The French forward averaged 20.2 points and 11.0 rebounds along with 2.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.2 blocks per game in a stellar showing.

He led German outfit ratiopharm Ulm to the title in Dubai, booking their spot in the ANGT Finals in Berlin where they will join Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

The Tournament

Ulm breezed past Aris Midea Thessaloniki in their opening tie as they won 83 – 67, Essengue made all five of his attempts from inside the arc in a 15-point performance.

They then took care of business against French side LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne with the MVP dropping a 16-point, 13 rebound double double in a convincing 98-78 win.

Despite their loss against 73-80 loss against Dubai Falcons Basketball Academy, Ulm progressed to the final where they would face Zalgiris Kaunas.

Thanks to one of the best performances the competition has ever seen courtesy of Essengue, Ulm edged out their Lithuanian counterparts in overtime with the score reading 89-84 at the close of play.

Up Next

Ratiopharm Ulm, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona all have their spots booked in the ANGT finals event in Berlin and the fourth finalist is to be decided in Essengue’s hometown of Paris, France.

The remaining ANGT Paris qualifier is to take place from April 5th to the 7th to decide who will complete our final four.
