EABL North MVP Tyrese Lacey commits to Daytona State

Following an impressive season with Myerscough College, Tyrese Lacey has committed to the Daytona State Falcons to become one of the latest British talents to take the JUCO route.

Lacey, 19, averaged 19.8 points, 8.3 assists and a league best 4.8 steals per game in the EABL which was enough to see him named MVP of the Northern Conference.

The British standout star averaged the joint highest number of steals in EABL history as well as leading the league in assists this season.

The 5’8 guard also impressed in the EYBL and led the competition in assists (9.8apg), where he set a new record for dimes in a single game as he dished out 17 in the superfinals.

Lacey displayed his scoring capabilities in the NBL Division Two, particularly when he dropped 40 points on Bristol back in January, he averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 3.6 steals.

He also holds international experience as he represented Great Britain at U16 and U18 levels in European competitions.

The North’s MVP will be returning for his second stint in the US when he makes the trip to Daytona State, he previously spent a successful two years at prep school prior to this season.

The Falcons compete in the NJCAA Division One Region 8 and the highly regarded British prospect will be looking forward to suiting up for his new team next season.
